Staff e-Induction for a leading pharmaceutical company

The challenge

An engaging e-Induction for new Sales Representatives at the UK division of a global pharmaceutical group.

Having previously developed a large eLearning course on a new drug, we were commissioned to create an e-Induction course for all new Sales Representatives to be accessed from their intranet.

Our solution

A rich variety of material delivered in an engaging, interactive e-Induction course. The course content covers company history (using interactive timelines and ‘clickable’ key events), industry compliance, HR policies and procedures, employee benefits, the company’s product portfolio and health & safety.“Working with TNA on our eLearning projects was a pleasure.”Our instructional designers worked with the customer’s subject matter experts to define the learning objectives and scope for the storyboard scripts, before creating the content in Adobe Flash.

‘Virtual interviews’ with staff provide new employees with expert guidance and advice and self-check exercises help build knowledge and confidence.

A novel section allows the new employee to play interviews with past company chairmen, apparently seated together around a boardroom table.

The program has a large on-line library of linked reference material such as glossaries, manuals and relevant web pages. All of this material may be maintained and easily updated by our customer’s staff, without programming.

The course is professionally narrated throughout.

In this project we also delivered the Flash program source code to the client so that their internal team could add and edit all of the screen content themselves.

Measuring understanding

With its primary function as an introduction to new starters, a final assessment was not required. However, self-check exercises are present throughout the program to re-inforce the learning.

Who is it for?

All new employees to the company on starting, as well as a ‘ready reference’ for all employees as needed.

System requirements

The e-Induction program is accessed from the employee’s Flash-enabled web browser and is launched from the company’s LMS. The program is SCORM 1.2 compliant.
